Growth Characteristics  Grows 3-4 ft. tall; 1-2 ft. wide, and will slowly spread over time. Plant 2-3 feet apart. Divide your plants every two to three years to help prolong life. Has bright red stalked flowers in summer and early fall. Low maintenance.

Light Requirements: Full to partial sun

Water Needs: Needs plenty of water.  Naturally found along streams and wet areas; can tolerate flooding.

Soil Preference: Requires wet to moist soils

Deer resistant, rabbit resistant. Snails and slugs can eat the base foliage.

This perennial is great for wet and moist areas, and wet slopes.
