Growth Characteristics Wild bergamot is a clump-forming, mint family member that grows typically to 2-4′ tall and 2-3 feet wide. This plant blooms from June to September and the flowers are pink to lavender in color. Plant 1-3 feet apart. It needs a moderate amount of maintenance.

Water Needs: Does well in both dry and moist areas.
Soil Preference: Grows in clay and rocky thin soils; occasionally dry. Well drained.
DISEASE, PEST, AND DEER RESISTANCE
This plant is resistant to damage by deer and rabbits. Powdery mildew can be a problem especially in crowded conditions with poor airflow but this plant shows resistance. Prune stems to increase air flow.
SITE CONSIDERATIONS
Provides color and contrast for the herb garden, wild garden, native plant garden, meadow or naturalized area. Can be used as a border. Tolerant of black walnut and dry conditions along road ways.
